Foster Your Love for Music

My daughter and I have taken lessons with Nicole and have had a wonderful experience. She is encouraging, generous, organized and excellent with children and adults alike. The studio is warm and welcoming and Nicole's love of music is infectious. I have made steady progress over the last 18 months and am now preparing for my grade four exam. My experience has been so positive that I think everyone should take lessons with Nicole!

I highly recommend Nicole as a piano teacher. One of her strengths, that sets her apart from other teachers is her ability to adapt her teaching style to her students' learning needs. My son takes private lessons. He enjoys adapting the songs in his music book. Rather than discourage this interest and stick to the script, Nicole supports him to try new variations by changing musical notation, tempo and key. He can play and contrast the original piece against his new creation. As a result he learns much more that just the notes on the page. My daughter takes group lessons. She found it distracting to play at the same time as others and couldn't concentrate on her music. Nicole provided head phones to dampen the sound. Problem solved, she now plays with the group and enjoys participating in class.

Nicole is an enthusiastic and engaging teacher. My son and I were registered in two blocks of Sunrise classes with her, and he learned so much during the classes! She had a good mix of music theory and fun activities, which kept her students focused and interested in the musical concepts being taught. All in all, we had so much fun taking Sunrise with Nicole!

After a year of piano lessons with Nicole, my son entered this year's Moonbeam class with the passion he usually reserves for hockey and action movies. Nicole is the best piano teacher I could imagine for my son. I have her to thank for introducing my little guy to the joys of music.

I took piano lessons as a child and didn’t last long; to me, the lessons were boring and uninspiring. Not so with Nicole! She makes lessons fun, challenging and motivating. My nine year old daughter loves piano lessons thanks to Nicole’s enthusiasm and creativity.

Nicole’s obvious love of music shines through enthusiastically at every lesson. Our children are not only learning to play the piano but are developing a love and understanding of music that they will carry with them. Nicole’s gentle, easy going manner and her great sense of humour make her extremely well suited to teaching. On the logistics side of things, she is both reliable and professional to deal with.

Nicole is a wonderful, patient teacher. As an adult student, she is helping me work towards a lifelong dream of learning to play the piano. I really look forward to my lessons.​

We love Nicole. My 6 year old has been doing piano with her for a couple of years and my 3 year old just finished his first term of music (prep for piano later). Nicole is enthusiastic, good humoured, patient, knowledgeable, and organized. I really appreciate her approach to teaching kids about music as there is always an element of fun, which of course promotes learning with children. While Nicole is young, fun, and enthusiastic she is always professional not only in day-to-day interactions, but I have also seen her handle difficult situations gracefully and with diplomacy.

Nicole is a very enthusiastic and patient teacher. She makes lessons both fun and productive. She is also very punctual and reliable.
